Joan Fraser
Joan Fraser is a member of the Board of NHS Health Scotland; a member of the Visiting Committee for Polmont Young Offenders Institution; and a member of the Management Board of The Yard, a voluntary organisation which supports and develops play for children with additional support needs, She has spent most of her career working for the Scottish Executive until she left in 2007 to pursue her other interests. Her previous experience as a senior official includes leading the review of Alcohol and Drug Action Teams; developing health education policies, including nutrition and sex education, and social inclusion policies in schools; and environmental policy. She was also seconded to YouthLink Scotland where she was interim Chief Executive for two years until 2006. Other voluntary experience includes work with the Miscarriage Association and as Chair of a Community Council and a School Board.
