Family Energy & Benefits Support
Project Summary:
The project involves FEBS enhancing an existing scheme that provides grants for loft and cavity wall insulation and energy efficiency advice. FEBS will complement this scheme by specifically targeting families with young children and young people in wards with a high incidence of fuel poverty. The existing project will expand to include developing partnerships with pre-school, social and youth services and identifying a range of family support organisations. A programme will then be developed to educate on energy efficiency in the home, the health implications of cold damp houses, increase the uptake of insulation and heating grants as well as ensure the maximisation of benefits.
